Safer Internet Day 2026 will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10 February 2026, with events and activities taking place throughout the entire month across Europe and around the world.As every year, SID will bring together schools, organisations, families, policymakers, and global partners to promote a safer and better digital world for children and young people.The official theme for this edition has not yet been announced, so stay tuned!

Hotline observatory: Q3, 2025

Trusted flagger designation under the Digital Services Act remains a key area of progress. Eleven hotlines now hold this status, and several reported steady operational developments this quarter. ECPAT Sweden strengthened communication channels with social media platforms to refine collaborative detection processes. Telefono Azzurro (Italy) focused on onboarding and analyst training to support more efficient workflows.

Latest helpline trends: Quarter 3, 2025

The most recent helpline data covers the period from July to September 2025. Helplines received over 14,300 contacts during this time, a slight reduction from the previous reporting period, which is to be expected as the timeframe encompasses the summer holidays when many helplines have fewer contacts. Teens (aged 12 to 18) are the group most commonly reaching out to helplines, accounting for almost two-thirds of all contacts.Cyberbullying continues to be the most common reason to reach out to a helpline, with 15 per cent of contacts related to this.
