Meet Ally, the new SID mascot!
The next Safer Internet Day (SID) will take place in February 2025 with a theme of “Together for a better internet”. A global day of focus will take place on Tuesday 11 February, with celebratory events taking place across the globe, throughout the whole month. Through this campaign, we call upon all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, and especially children and young people.

Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world in February of each year, with Safer Internet Centres, Safer Internet Day Committees and other supporters in each of the countries coming together to plan and organise events.

How can online gaming be a safer environment for everyone?

To understand gamers needs better, Helpwanted did a study on this specific target group. This work focuses on online toxicity in the gaming community, where gamers engage in various forms of transgressive behaviour, such as verbal harassment, discrimination and cheating – with the aim of hampering other gamers’ play or causing harm in multiplayer games.

Anyone can express themselves and give their opinion on subjects or facts on the internet. However, there is a huge amount of information online and not all of it is reliable. The most important thing for young people is to learn to be critical and to think twice. Children often assume that everything on the internet is true, so they have to be taught to check their sources.So how do you check if the information online is correct and true?
