This website showcases the numerous events and activities taking place worldwide to commemorate Safer Internet Day. This year, events and activities took place throughout February 2025. The next SID celebration will take place in February 2026, with the global day of focus on Tuesday, 10 February 2026.
Through this campaign, we call upon all stakeholders to join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, and especially children and young people. This website shines a spotlight on what's happening in your country and connects you to the organisations and supporters leading activities. Safer Internet Day is celebrated around the world in February of each year, with Safer Internet Centres, Safer Internet Day Committees and other supporters in each of the countries coming together to plan and organise events.

Betternet Lab: the online lives of LGBTIQ youth

* LGBTIQ people are people who are attracted to others of their own gender (lesbian, gay) or any gender (bisexual); whose gender identity and/or expression does not correspond to the sex they were assigned at birth (trans, non-binary); who are born with sex characteristics that do not fit the typical definition of male or female (intersex); and whose identity does not fit into a binary classification of sexuality and/or gender (queer).

“Your safe place”: a platform to support children and adolescents

Right from the beginning, "Your safe space” speaks directly to children, asking: “Did you see something strange, frightening, or bad on your phone, computer, or in a game? Did someone send you something confusing or upsetting?” It then reassures them that they are not alone; SafeLine is there to listen, to help, and to protect them.

Child Focus launches new online platform to empower young people against online sextortion

Sextortion, or sexual extortion, is a form of fraud where fake accounts are used to pressure young people into sending intimate images and extort money. Strikingly, it is mainly boys who fall victim to this crime in Belgium. This year alone, Child Focus has already opened more than 350 sextortion cases, an alarming increase of 130 per cent compared to last year.
