European School Education Platform and eTwinning

Profile last updated: July 2025

About our SID activities

We support a better and safer internet for students and teachers through awareness and education. The European School Education Platform and eTwinning actively promote digital skills, digital wellbeing, and media literacy as part of Safer Internet Day and throughout the year. Our resources, courses and activities support schools across Europe in addressing online challenges such as cyberbullying, misinformation, and harmful content.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

Education is key to shaping the future digital citizens of Europe. As a platform of the European Commission,  the European School Education Platform offers a rich collection of articles, teaching materials, and training on digital literacy, critical thinking, and safe internet use.

Through eTwinning, teachers engage in projects that bring these values into classrooms in a practical and meaningful way. Students work together on issues such as digital responsibility, online safety, and respectful communication - fostering critical awareness and collaborative problem-solving.

We also host a dedicated Literacy, Media Literacy and Critical Thinking group, where teachers share best practices and empower students to evaluate media responsibly and navigate today’s complex digital landscape.

About us

The European School Education Platform and the eTwinning community are European Commission initiatives, funded by Erasmus+, the European programme for education, training, youth and sport. The platform is coordinated by external contractors, under service contracts with the European Education and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA).
