Parents International (Stichting IPA)

Profile last updated: January 2025

About our SID activities

Around Safer Internet Day, Parents International's main activities include:

  • awareness raising activities towards parents;
  • advocacy messages for policy makers to have a balanced approach to internet regulations that considers all children's rights not only the right to protection;
  • promote our freely available materials that supports parents and other educators in establishing a risk mitigation approach and build resilience - their own as well as children's;
  • present our own research to explore realities, fill research gaps and burst myths.

What we are doing to create a better internet...

As a research, advocacy and training organisation dedicated to ensure the rights of children and parents online, we do and promote research to present realities, fill research gaps and bust myths, advocate for a non-restrictive, education-based approach in policy, offer practical tools for parents and professional educators, and provide teacher and school leader training with a risk mitigation rather than risk prevention approach.

About us

Stichting IPA (Parents International) is an independent research, advocacy and training organisation established with the mission of supporting parents around the world to become game-changers by helping their children to grow up happy and healthy 21st century citizens. It is believed that responses to global and local challenges can be improved by drawing upon existing experiences through wider communication and cooperation among parents all over the world.

Parents International provides a forum whereby experienced parents’ representatives (active and formal), professionals, (including teachers, social workers, researchers, psychologists, teacher trainers, economists, students, policy makers, youth workers,) who are interested in supporting parents, can contribute to a global parents’ alliance that works for the best interest and well-being of children all over the world.
