Latest helpline trends: Quarter 1, 2025
The most recent helpline data covers the period from January to March 2025. There were over 13,800 contacts made to the network, representing an increase of almost 9 per cent compared to the previous reporting period.

Q1 2025 in review: record report volume and emerging content trends
In total, hotlines received over 1.73 million reports, the highest single-quarter volume recorded since the Observatory began. This sharp increase is largely attributable to an influx of reports processed by SafeNet Bulgaria, which alone received more than 1.4 million reports during the period.Hotlines flagged 61.16 per cent of all reports as suspected child sexual abuse material (CSAM), reaffirming the persistent prevalence of this illegal content among the total volume of submissions.

The campaign “Safer and better protected children online in safe schools” was organised in support and in coordination with the Albanian action plan for safety in schools of the Albanian government and the Ministry of Education, which was adopted in December 2024 after the tragic event of the murder of a minor in Tirana by a peer, after a conflict that had arisen on social networks.
