Latvia celebrates Safer Internet Day 2021 with a nationwide quiz
On Safer Internet Day (SID), Tuesday, 9 February 2021, the Latvian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) organised nationwide activities involving children, young people and adults, encouraging everyone to create a better and safer internet environment.
Safer Internet Day 2021 in Sweden
This past year, we’ve really experienced how we, with the help of digitalisation, have created new and exciting opportunities in our everyday lives. Workplaces, schools and other businesses have been forced to take giant digital leaps forward. Lessons have been recorded and made available digitally so that students can participate in them afterwards, for example, if they have been ill. Youth centres all over the country have been digitised and offer online dance classes and yoga, e-sports, chats, and other digital activities for children and young people.

Online conference “Together for a better internet” Safer Internet Day 2021 in Cyprus
On Tuesday, 9 February 2021, as part of Safer Internet Day, an online conference was held in Cyprus with huge success. Titled "Together for a better internet", the conference was organised by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth, with the support of the partners of the Cyprus Safer Internet Centre (SIC) – CYberSafety and the National Strategy for a Better Internet for the Children of Cyprus. This year, the conference was held online due to the special conditions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic.
Together for a better internet in Lithuania on Safer Internet Day 2021
In the face of the global pandemic, the internet has become our daily platform for learning, working, entertainment and communication. However, besides all the good things, cyberspace is full of many dangers: harmful content, hatred, personal data use and others. On 9 February 2021, Lithuania, together with approximately 200 other countries, celebrated the international Safer Internet Day (SID), hosting various campaigns to draw attention to online safety.

Safer Internet Day 2021 in Malta
Together with the rest of the world, Malta recently commemorated Safer Internet Day (SID); a day of celebration marked in February each year to promote the safe and positive use of digital technology for children and young people. The campaign has grown beyond its traditional geographic zone and is now celebrated in approximately 200 countries, reaching millions worldwide. With the global theme of “Together for a better internet”, the day calls upon all stakeholders to unite to make the internet a safer and better place for all, especially for children and young people.
Debunking fake news on Safer Internet Day 2021 in Bulgaria
Dozens of schools, institutions and organisations in Bulgaria celebrated the 18th Safer Internet Day on Tuesday, 9 February 2021 with various events and initaiatives. The central national event was organised by the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) and held online with the active participation of its Youth Panel. Around 80 young people, teachers and professionals took part in the event, which was also streamed live on the centre’s Facebook page. Schools nationwide gathered their pupils and followed the live event on screen.
Czech Safer Internet Centre scoops another award
The #martyisdead series and the documentary film Caught in the Net won the prestigious Czech Lion Award (Český lev). The recent announcement of the results of the 28th Czech Lion Awards brought awards for two films in which the Czech Safer Internet Centre (SIC) participated.
