National label for online child protection resources

The 'Parents parlons numérique' label, a French ministerial initiative, aids parents in understanding their children's digital education. To address the overwhelming online safety resources, a committee led by the French National Health Insurance Fund and the National Union of Family Associations has been established to evaluate and label initiatives, simplifying the decision-making process for parents.

The ‘Parents parlons numérique’ label is a ministerial initiative which helps parents find their way around and learn more about their children’s education. In France, many structures produce resources and awareness-raising materials on protecting minors online. Faced with many choices, it can be difficult for families to find their way around. This raises questions: Who should they trust? Which sources are reliable? Should they pay for a particular awareness-raising session?

A committee of experts has been created to simplify the process for parents. The French National Health Insurance Fund and the National Union of Family Associations lead it. Internet Sans Crainte, the national awareness centre, is an active committee member. The committee's first phase of action was to agree and create a criteria grid to label or not label the initiatives or resources proposed to it.

At present, each individual or organisation wishing to obtain the Parents, let's talk about the digital label, must submit its application, which will be studied based on this preparatory work.
