Today, 10 February 2026, marks the beginning of the Safer Internet Day celebrations worldwide. Each February, stakeholders across the globe join together to make the internet a safer and better place for all, and especially children and young people. To join in the celebrations, new content is available on the BIK Learning corners.
What are the BIK Learning corners?
The Learning corners of the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) portal are a section designed for children, young people, and for the adults who support and educate them - teachers, educators, parents and caregivers. You’ll find free information, advice, and resources to help you guide young people in safely and positively navigating their digital world.
In brief, they are your one-stop shop for learning and teaching about digital citizenship and online safety.
They currently consist of a Children and young people corner, a Parents and caregivers corner, and a Teachers and educators corner.
Children and young people corner
The Children corner is meant to support children and young people directly to navigate the digital world. It includes a range of useful, interactive materials that are designed to help children and young people to gain the necessary digital skills to thrive in the online world.
For Safer Internet Day 2026, the Children corner gets a new look, and includes a new section for young people to see how the European Union is ensuring that young people are protected while being online. There are many resources available in the EU learning corner to help familiarise yourself with some of the most common online opportunities and challenges, and to share your voice on matters that are important to you.
Parents and caregivers corner
The Parent corner is meant to support parents, caregivers, and generally any tutoring figure to help children and young people navigate the digital world. It includes sections dedicated to some of the most topical concerns for parents, such as parental controls, gaming and managing screen time. In addition, a range of learning modules and deep dive that are provided to ensure parents and caregivers have the knowledge required to understand the risks and opportunities that accompany the digital experiences of youth, and to help develop the skills to support them to manage and benefit from these experiences.
For Safer Internet Day 2026, the deep dive on cyberbullying is updated to account for the latest data and policy developments in the field, as well as the forthcoming EU Action plan on cyberbullying.
In addition, a new quiz for parents and caregivers is available - test how you much you already know about cyberbullying!
Teachers and educators corner
The Teacher corner is for teachers, educators and other adults who work with children and young people. It includes a range of learning modules and deep dive sessions that are provided to ensure teachers and educators have the knowledge required to understand the risks and opportunities that accompany the digital experiences of youth, and to help teachers and educators develop the skills to support them to manage and benefit from these experiences.
For Safer Internet Day 2026, this deep dive on cyberbullying is also updated to account for the latest data and policy developments in the field, and the forthcoming EU Action plan on cyberbullying.
In addition, a new quiz for teachers and educators is available - test how you can support your learners when dealing with cyberbullying!
