The workshops took place at the Zagreb Fair (Zagrebački Velesajam), encompassing three types of “BetterOnline” workshops for students:
- Play games safely – a workshop that teaches children about responsible gaming habits while providing guidelines for safe and enjoyable gaming.
- Safe in the digital jungle – a workshop aimed at teaching children how to deal with challenges and dangers on the internet.
- Analyse this – a workshop aimed at discussing critical thinking about online content and distinguishing between entertainment and risky behaviours online.

The workshops taught children how to create a safe online environment, recognise violence on the internet, and emphasised the importance of safe internet use. Children could discuss their experiences with digital technologies and receive feedback, advice and recommendations on their use. Through concrete examples, children had the chance to learn to differentiate between harmless teasing and violence online and were reminded of the importance of reporting inappropriate content on the internet.
Following the workshops, the Croatian Safer Internet Centre collected a total of 92 evaluation forms, which evidenced that the topics were very interesting and appealing to the young participants. Children mentioned learning something new through the workshops, discovering safer internet use practices, and highlighted the ability to express their opinions as a positive aspect of the workshops. Safer Internet Centre Croatia also had its own booth at the event, where it distributed promotional materials and engaged in discussions about the work of the centre, while also contributing to two panels prepared as part of the programme.
