ISIGURT.al Albania, starting from 2025, has launched a hotline for Safe Internet in Albania with the primary goal of reporting any incident of any form of online violence at the national level, being a trusted flagger for all global social media platforms.
The staff of ISIGURT.al, since October 2024, has been committed to conducting awareness sessions across Albania in more than 40 schools in the country, raising awareness among more than 800 students and over 200 parents.

During the meetings in schools with students, the importance of internet safety is emphasised, including the most common risks they face, alternatives for how children can navigate the internet as safely as possible, as well as how to protect them from any incidents that may occur online and on social networks. The sessions also cover ways to report incidents and provide assistance for all needs, with children being able to access support through the National Child Counselling Line, ALO 116111.

On December 20, 2024, the Ministry of Education and Sports presented the School Safety Action Plan, prepared by experts from the Ministry of Education. CRCA and ISIGURT.al provided their support and input in the development of the plan. The Ministry of Education and Sports also publicly acknowledged and thanked the iSIGURT.al platform and youth supporters.

On February 11, during the International Safe Internet Day, the 10th National Forum on Child Online Safety was organised in Tirana, Albania, with the participation of national authorities, civil society, industry representatives, and experts. During this forum, the National Report on annual incidents for the year 2024 was presented. Our Safe Internet Centre recorded 407 incidents in 2024, with 62% of the victims being young girls. Blackmail and bullying were the main incidents reported to iSIGURT.al.
On February 17, 2025, the Ministry of Education, as part of the implementation of the Digital Safety Action Plan for Schools, presented the Digital Newsletter for Parents. At the same time, together with CRCA and iSIGURT.al, they introduced the creation of the National Network for Cybersecurity in Schools. The meeting included education professionals, psychologists, security officers, and representatives from institutions and civil society organisations.

The National Network for Digital Safety in Schools will play an important role in creating a safe and inclusive digital environment for students, teachers, and parents. In collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Sports, each school in Albania will have one child, called the 'Ambassador of safe internet', one teacher who teaches technology and informatics, and a psycho-social support staff in schools.

On December 19, 2024, CRCA held an open consultation with professionals from four municipalities in the Korça Region, Albania. The meeting was attended by mayors and deputy mayors of the respective municipalities, education professionals, psychologists, security officers, youth coordinators, and representatives from various institutions and civil society organisations.
During this consultation, professionals were encouraged to strengthen their knowledge of the forms and methods of reporting any online incidents. The discussion also focused on the shared goal of all professionals working with and for children to ensure online safety. Two professionals from each school will be part of the Internet Safety Ambassadors.

On December 16, 2024, the Parliamentary Education Commission organised a Hearing Session with CRCA members and partners to share some of our concerns, issues, and recommendations regarding access, quality, and inclusion of children in public pre-university education.

Among the key issues we raised, which were supported by all the members of parliament, were: the quality of education, violence and bullying in schools, and the care for children with disabilities and Roma children, both online and physically.
On 10 December, International Human Rights Day, CRCA Albania, invited by the National Centre for the Culture of Children, engaged in a conversation with an extraordinary and curious group of children. Full of joy and curiosity, they challenged us adults on their rights. In addition to learning about all the services offered by the Safe Internet Line, the children had interesting discussions about their unique perspective on the vast world of virtual space through the eyes of children.
