This report investigates the prevalence and dynamics of bullying and cyberbullying among Slovak primary and secondary school students, based on a 2022 questionnaire survey of 1,969 students aged 12-18. Findings indicate 25% of students were traditional bullying victims, 9% aggressors, and 43% witnesses. Bullying was common in classrooms, with 35% of victims remaining silent. Cyberbullying affected 15% of students as victims (3% as aggressors, 20% witnesses), largely via social media, with 44% of aggressors unknown and 38% of victims not reporting.

This study investigates the prevention and resolution of bullying and cyberbullying in Slovak primary and secondary schools from the perspective of prevention coordinators. The Youth Internet Monitor is an initiative of Saferinternet.at and presents current data on social media usage among Austrian youth . The Youth Internet Monitor, part of the EU initiative Saferinternet.at, has been studying the use of social networks by young people in Austria for ten years.

This study analyses the media behaviour of children aged 3 to 10 years. It is part of a series of studies that has been researching trends since 2007. Data was collected from children aged 6 to 10, parents of children aged 3 to 10, and educators from kindergartens and primary schools. Key findings show that playing outdoors remains children’s preferred leisure activity. However, media integration is high; Television (TV) and Smartphones remain the most important devices. Average TV usage (105 minutes daily) remains significantly above pre-pandemic levels.

The ""Digital Skills Austria"" investigates Austrians' abilities to orient themselves, navigate, and, in particular, shape the digital space. The study was first conducted in 2022 on behalf of RTR-GmbH under the direction of Associate Professor Dr. Thomas Steinmaurer (Paris Lodron University of Salzburg) and expanded in 2023. For the study, Austrians were again surveyed using an online questionnaire in July/August 2023 to assess their digital skills. Sociodemographic data, personal attitudes toward technology, digital knowledge, and media usage behavior were also collected.

This report summarises the work of the Working Group for the Combat of Bullying in Schools, established in September 2024, addressing the severe structural impacts of bullying and cyberbullying on Portuguese students' development and mental health. Findings indicate that cyberbullying involvement increases with age, while in traditional bullying, girls are predominantly victims and boys are aggressors. The 2023 edition of the Istat survey on “Children and young people: behavior, attitudes, and future projects,” was conducted by the Istituto nazionale di statistica (Istat) between 1 October and 20 December 2023. Its objective was to collect information on fundamental aspects of life, including social relationships, use of social media, citizenship, sense of belonging, poverty, and future plans for residents in Italy aged 11 to 19. Findings confirmed the cohort as digital natives, with almost 85% having a social media profile, where girls are generally more connected than boys.

This report presents findings from surveys regarding children and online media (Börn og netmiðlar), conducted by the Icelandic Media Commission (Fjölmiðlanefnd) in collaboration with the University of Iceland's School of Education. The research utilised large-scale, electronic questionnaires targeting students aged 9 to 18 across Iceland. Implementations occurred in 2021, featuring 5,911 participants, and in 2023, featuring 6,489 participants. The questionnaire was initially based on a study by the Norwegian Media Authority, Medietilsynet, and updated and localised.

This research report presents the 2020 findings of the Digital Parenting study series, commissioned by the National Media and Communications Authority (NMHH) and conducted by Psyma Hungary, surveying 2,000 nationally representative children aged 7–16 and their parents in Hungary. The questionnaire-basedstudy  (CAPI technology)was used  to track changes since the previous wave in 2017. Key areas examined include media device ownership, screen time, social media presence, and children’s engagement with digital/online risks, harms, and infringements.

This collection of articles published by the Finish Youth Research Society examines the media cultures of children and young people and their mediatised daily lives. The texts investigate how media images and devices are interwoven into the everyday experiences of children and young people. Key questions addressed are  methods suitable for research conducted collaboratively with children and the unavoidable power relations involved. The research includes multi-method research designs aimed at achieving children’s and young people’s experiential knowledge and participation.
