Better Internet for Kids

The Croatian SIC has produced various educational materials as part of SID 2023. One of them is a lession plan for experts, for conducting a workshop with children aged 5.-8. grade of primary school (ages 11-15), and the topic is "ONLINE CHALLENGES How thin is the line between fun and danger". The duration of the workshop is 45 minutes. The goal is to: encourage the development / develop personal responsibility of students when meeting online challenges. The material also includes an evalaution for students.

The duration of the workshop is 45 minutes. The goal is to: highlight the importance of responding to violence. The material also includes an evaluation for students.

The duration of the workshop is 45 minutes.

One of them is a lession plan for experts, for conducting a workshop with children in kindergartens), and the topic is " Screen world". The duration of the workshop is 30 minutes. The goal is to: building habits of safe screen and Internet use, encourage conversation about screen and internet use, talk about consequences of excessive playing of games and looking at the screen (mobile phone, tablet, television, laptop...) The material also includes an evaluation for kids.

The Croatian SIC has produced various educational materials as part of SID 2023. One of them is a short e-book, SIC Croatia glossary for experts and parents.

The teams have to discuss questions and topics on the screen with the help of their mentor. There are 4+1 topics in total, with a minimum of 5-5 minutes for each topic.
Answers can be submitted anonymously online via the ahaslides.com website, with the help of mentors, and will be displayed on a projector for all teams to see. Multiple comments can be submitted on a topic. At the end of the discussion, after each topic has been discussed, one participant/mentor from each team will be given the opportunity to summarise the discussion.

The Croatian SIC has produced various educational materials as part of SID 2023. One of them is a short manual for employees of educational institutions „The role of parents in media education and protection of children on the Internet - How to work with parents?".

As part of SID 2023 celebrations we have prepared a leaflet for teenagers older than 14 years on online nudity. On the internet, we can come across all kinds of content, including nudity - pornography. This leaflet explains what online pornography is and why it cannot be compared to real sex. It also describes the consequences of watching too much pornography and gives advice on what to do if you come across pornography and feel uncomfortable.

As part of SID 2023 celebrations we organised a one-hour live online talk show for young people on the issue of inappropriate online content and its impact on teenagers. The first part of the show focused on the issue of online influencers who spread problematic beliefs, while the second part of the conversation focused on online pornography and the messages it conveys and the impact on children and adolescents.

As part of SID 2023 celebrations we have prepared a poster for primary school pupils with some tips on what to do if they come across content online that makes them feel uncomfortable.
Around 3000 copies of the poster will be submitted to postal addresses of all Slovenian primary schools for hanging on the walls within school premises. The online version of the poster is also available online. Our goal is to reach as many young people as possible.
