MediaNest - the eSafety website for parents.

Tv, internet, sociala media, games … they are playing an important role in the lives of kids and youngsters. Most Flemish parents see the media use of their children as something positive, but also as a challange. Some parents have the feeling they can't cope and don't understand new trends. That is why Child Focus, together with Mediawijs and more than 20 other partners, created MediaNest, a website where parents can find an answer to all their questions concerning media and their children from 0 to 18 years old.

Child Focus developed this tool for the Safer Internet Day 2014. The “Safer Internet Day Quiz” aimed at all classrooms from 5th and 6th primary school. Students are asked to reply to the quiz regarding e-safety with 10 questions related to social mediaz, webcam, right of image, privacy and personal information, cyberbullying, etc. at the end, tips and tricks are given for the students and the teacher.

The Child Focus helpline is receiving more and more cases of 'sexting gone wrong' (or secundary sexting). Therefore we created an educational video for youngsters, introducing the the grandma rule: don't post / share any content online that you don't want to see in a frame at you grandma's.
