But just how much data are companies collecting from us and what rights do we have in relation to our personal data?

An important protection for all of us is GDPR which came into effect in 2018 and is designed to protect personal data linked to individuals.

The resource is a video made during the Back to School event where the girls and boys of the Youth Panel launched proposals to improve and secure apps used by young people. During the event, the youth panelists were interviewed and asked if they would ever exchange their phone for an old phone without internet. Watch the video to see their answers.
