The Media education fair was attended by 100 people from media organisations and media houses, 70 students and 150 other visitors, of which many were teachers, other educators and librarians.
The fair was a full-day educational and networking conference, where participants could gain new knowledge, skills and inspiration in all areas of media education. There were workshops with experienced lecturers, panel discussions with journalists and experts, and booths with interactive elements from organisations working in media education. It took place on Tuesday, 7 May 2024 at the DOX Contemporary Art Centre in Czech Republic, kicking off the eighth edition of Media literacy week.
Visitors were able to try online games, educational quizzes, virtual reality or talking on camera at interactive booths.
The fair featured 10 workshops on various media education topics such as media objectivity, cyberbullying, how to communicate with young people about the digital world so they can hear us, how to use artificial intelligence in teaching, myths and facts about the EU, the downsides of the media and the downsides of TikTok.
