The Media Compass forms the basis for successful media education in schools. It shows how every teacher and every subject or module can contribute to the development, promotion and deepening of media skills. It thus offers teachers, educators and students a theoretical and practical framework of orientation.

The purpose of the Media Council for Children and Young People's ethical guidelines is to secure children's rights in the digital environment. The guidelines are about the measures that digital services must take if they want to comply with children's rights. It is based on existing challenges for children's rights on digital media:

The Media Education framework is structured to offer a comprehensive approach to digital media in the national educational context. It encompasses ten educational principles for media use, objectives for digital skills development by school cycle, a curricular approach to media, and a methodological glossary.

Media literacy in Finland is the media literacy policy and the national media education policy document, published by the Ministry of Education and Culture in 2019. The document updates and extends the cultural policy guidelines for media literacy published in 2013.

Estonia’s Media Services Act transposes into Estonian law the EU  Audiovisual Media Services Directive. According to the Act, the scope of application of the Media Services Act also includes video-sharing platforms and social media channels, such as YouTube, Vimeo and Dailymotion. In order to provide a service, it is necessary to submit a notice of economic activities to the register of economic activities and to set out the procedure for blocking illegal content in the terms and conditions. The National Action Plan (NAP) for child and youth participation is responsible for further developing the federal government’s youth strategy, focusing on effective participation methods. It ensures youth participation through a dialogue process with children, adolescents and young adults. The initiative is available at all levels: municipal, state and federal.  It plans to develop recommendations for effective child and youth participation in Germany by 2025.

The National Action Plan on Children's Rights responds to the recommendation of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child. Its 64 actions, spread across eight areas, were selected based on the priorities identified by the Committee on the Rights of the Child for Luxembourg and communicated in the Concluding Observations.

The National Action Plan for Digital Inclusion is a comprehensive, inter-ministerial strategy launched in September 2021 to ensure equitable digital access, foster digital skills, and bridge the digital divide across all segments of Luxembourg society. The plan aims to facilitate the emergence of an inclusive digital society. As outlined in the document "It lays solid foundations for sustainable action in the field of digital inclusion and acts as a facilitator to make digital technology an economic and social lever for all those who choose to go digital".

In 2020, a new subject called Digital Culture was introduced in the National Core Curriculum in Hungary, replacing the previously titled subject of Informatics. This subject is compulsory from 3rd to 11th grade and aims to enhance learners' digital citizenship skills.
