The Croatian SIC has produced various educational materials as part of SID 2023. One of them is a short manual for employees of educational institutions „The role of parents in media education and protection of children on the Internet - How to work with parents?".
Leaflet “Online nudity - Does online nudity teach us about healthy sexuality?"
As part of SID 2023 celebrations we have prepared a leaflet for teenagers older than 14 years on online nudity. On the internet, we can come across all kinds of content, including nudity - pornography. This leaflet explains what online pornography is and why it cannot be compared to real sex. It also describes the consequences of watching too much pornography and gives advice on what to do if you come across pornography and feel uncomfortable.
Online talk show for adolescents “Inappropriate content and its impact on adolescents”
As part of SID 2023 celebrations we organised a one-hour live online talk show for young people on the issue of inappropriate online content and its impact on teenagers. The first part of the show focused on the issue of online influencers who spread problematic beliefs, while the second part of the conversation focused on online pornography and the messages it conveys and the impact on children and adolescents.
Poster “Unpleasant content online”
As part of SID 2023 celebrations we have prepared a poster for primary school pupils with some tips on what to do if they come across content online that makes them feel uncomfortable.
Around 3000 copies of the poster will be submitted to postal addresses of all Slovenian primary schools for hanging on the walls within school premises. The online version of the poster is also available online. Our goal is to reach as many young people as possible.
The text (at the moment only available in Slovenian) needs to be adapted to local languages.
Media education in child and youth welfare

Media and the Internet have become an integral part of the everyday lives of children, young people and their families, and thus also of the lives of pedagogical staff in child and youth welfare. Particularly in the field of child and youth welfare, it is important to support the addressees as much as possible, on the one hand by giving them the freedom to acquire media competence, but at the same time by offering educational opportunities.
