On Safer Internet Day 2024,The Greek Safer Internet Centre collaborated with the Foundation for Research and Technology to raise awareness of safety issues and inspire positive change online. At the heart of this celebration was a main event drawing 800 students from 30 secondary schools. Through playful activities, these students were immersed in the exploration of a safe and positive use of online technologies.

Albanian authorities unprepared to protect children in cyberspace
In Albania, thousands of children and young people become victims of violence, bullying, abuse and crimes online every day. Only a small proportion of these incidents are reported to authorities or the National Hotline for Child Internet Safety, as most victims feel scared, ashamed or have no confidence in the authorities to report. The Albanian Parliament Child Rights Caucus (Friends of Children Parliamentary Group) held a hearing session with iSIGURT.al to discuss the matter.
Safer Internet Day 2024 in Latvia
On Safer Internet Day 2024, Latvian pupils from grades 10-12 participated in the nationwide online quiz "Mind Games" on various aspects of internet safety. 317 teams from different Latvian schools and regions took part in the quiz, competing to test their knowledge about digital literacy, cyber security and media literacy jointly exploring more on topics such as privacy risks as well as the importance of respectful online communication and relationships.
