New season of the Vinz et Lou series released: new look and new topics

The Vinz and Lou cartoon series was launched by the content agency Tralalere 15 years ago, and it is well known in the French school environment. The cartoon is frequently used in primary and secondary schools by teachers to address social issues and help children to analyse these phenomena with a more critical approach. The series is composed of 70 episodes organised by seasons (topics) available in four languages. It gathers a total of 15 million views and is followed on YouTube by 17,000 subscribers.

This year, a new season of the series was launched, with an updated and more contemporary design. It includes the use of motion capture technology, the inlaying of real sets and character animations with skeleton control. It is also an opportunity to update certain topics related to digital use that have changed a lot since the very first version of the Vinz and Lou series was released.

Through the eyes of a humorous brother and sister duo - Vinz and Lou, this new season aims to answer concrete questions from children about the main issues related to their digital activities: here, we talk about social networks, influencers and the economic model they are part of, cyberbullying and the attention economy that constantly brings us back to our screens.

For each thematic episode and to elaborate the scenarios, the methodology consists of the co-construction and validation of the contents by experts on the subject. For the occasion, a young ad-hoc panel was also created, which allowed to refine the discourse, to adapt it as closely as possible to the problems of the children's age group, but also to correct the language and the touches of humour so that the tone is the most appropriate to their sensitivity.

Episodes of the new season

  1. How to become a famous YouTuber?
  2. Why do children get bullied?
  3. Why shouldn't we watch porn?
  4. When we watch streaming videos, does that pollute?
  5. Advertising, YouTube's business model
  6. Why are we stuck to our screens?
