
French partner associations are in charge of welcoming children during extracurricular time. They are complementary to the teachers and essential in their role of mediation between school and home. Through their actions, they reach millions of pupils throughout the year, from nursery school to high school.
In 2022, a dedicated project manager has been hired to lead and coordinate the network through regular meetings. The project manager is also responsible for training educators and activity leaders as well as the heads of these NGOs in the use of our educational resources. These trained educators are then in charge of training the children and teenagers themselves in return.
This programme broadens the reputation and visibility of the French Safer Internet Centre and gives access to teaching materials in a new context - different from the school. The process allows to delegation the interventions to professional animators. They are professionally trained and used to interacting directly with young people.
The community of ambassadors is a real source of inspiration which helps in the co-construction of new resources for the French Safer Internet Centre. The members of this community are also invited to join several expert committees as a practical way to give them a voice. At the same time, their monthly reports from the field reflect their actions. Last but not least, on the occasion of monthly online meetings, exchanges with ambassadors allows the French Safer Internet Centre to identify awareness-raising priorities and their precise needs for new resources.
To date, the network counts 55 ambassador organizations and thousands of youth facilitators that reach hundreds of thousands of children and young people who attend before and after school every week.
