Safer Internet France is committed to creating impactful tools that empower young people and families to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. The SIC is proud to share that two of their resources, Stop la Violence and FamiNum, have consecutively won the Insafe network resource competition in 2023 and 2024.
With the prize, Safer Internet France is working on making the resources available in English and is interested in collaborating with the Insafe network for ongoing localisation efforts. These innovative tools highlight our dedication to addressing pressing issues like bullying and digital parenting in creative, engaging ways.
Stop la Violence: A serious game to combat bullying
Winner of the 2023 Insafe network resource competition, Stop la Violence is a serious game designed to raise awareness of harassment and bullying among middle and high school students. Developed in collaboration with a scientific and pedagogical committee, this tool uses active pedagogy to foster empathy and empower students to take action.
In this interactive experience, students conduct investigations into real-world bullying scenarios involving discrimination, rumours, extortion, and the sharing of intimate content. By interviewing witnesses, victims, and perpetrators, players uncover the mechanisms of bullying and learn actionable strategies for conflict resolution.

The game’s adaptable 45- to 90-minute sessions make it an accessible and ready-to-use resource for educators. Rooted in empathy, Stop la Violence not only engages students but also promotes a calm and respectful school environment.
Thanks to the award, Stop La Violence is now available in English.
FamiNum: Creating a digital charter for families
Winner of the 2024 Insafe network resource competition, FamiNum is a tool that helps families establish healthy digital habits through the creation of personalised family charters. Developed after surveying 800 families and piloting the programme with 200 families, FamiNum provides a step-by-step process for creating screen-time rules and digital boundaries tailored to each household’s needs.
Families start by defining their digital profile and goals. They can then browse good practice cards organised by age group and theme - such as screen time, social media, video games, and personal data. Each card offers practical advice and implementation tips, such as: “At the table, we put away our phones.” Families can customise these cards, assigning specific practices to individual members and compiling them into a printable charter for everyone to see.

To further support families, FamiNum offers a six-week follow-up programme with weekly emails that include encouragement, advice, and family challenges. Feedback has been overwhelmingly positive: 4 out of 5 families feel more confident guiding their children’s screen use, and 4.5 out of 5 recommend the platform.
The English version of FamiNum will become available by mid-2025.
