As children are digital natives, it is crucial to take proper care so that they do not become an easy target for cybercriminals. One of the most difficult topics to approach with children is grooming and sexual abuse of minors through the Internet. It is probably parents’ biggest fear, both in “real life” and in the “digital world”, and it is not easy to approach this topic with children, not only because they are naive and childish, but also because they trust and believe others too much.

“Fake News” is deliberately false news that is perceived as true and is distributed on social networks and websites with the intention of generating benefit for some group, be it economic, political or social. As it seems to be true, this type of news and information is shared easily and quickly on the Internet and/or through messaging services and applications. There is no concern in searching for the Source of the information/news, which makes it very difficult to control the spread of “Fake News”.

We have created a short interactive quiz for teenagers aged 12 to 15 years on Digital Wellbeing with 10 questions. For each question we have added three answer choices and only one answer is correct. Each question is also followed by a detailed explanation of the correct answer.

With this quiz we aim to motivate children to behave more responsibly online, to look after their health when using online devices and to be able to recognise the situations that can be potentially dangerous. This resource was produced by Slovenian Awareness Centre Safe.si to celebrate SID 2021.

We have prepared a guide with settings on the Digital Wellbeing for both Android and iOS.

Smartphones and tablets with Android or iOS operating systems (iPhone, iPad) are constantly flooding us with information and alerts. As this is disruptive and has a detrimental effect on wellbeing, concentration and learning or working, both operating systems have digital wellbeing settings that should be brought to the widest possible audience.
Disseminated via Safe.si website as well as through social networking sites, such as Facebook and Instagram.
