Denis Baš, Ph.D. med. spec. pediat., explains in a video exactly when we can give digital devices to a child and how much time the youngster can use them per day. This video was developed in cooperation with Slovenian paediatric Association.
Webinar for teachers on the topic of safe internet use, focusing on teleworking in education
The webinar was prepared by external colleagues of the Awareness Centre Safe.si Benjamin Lesjak, PhD, who presented the legal aspects, and Tjaša Jerman Kuželički, who presented the general aspects of safe internet use in education and home schooling.
Poster: Parents on the phone
Poster is designed to encourage parents to think about their use of mobile phones as many children are desperate because parents use more time for their mobile phones than for them. Text on the poster says: “Do parents like their phones more than me?” and “Your child needs your attention. Do not neglect your child because of your mobile phone. Good attitude and genuine contact with parents is the most important for development of child.”
Super Selfie: fun and educational short movie on posting selfies online in a safe manner
As one of the activities for SID 2019, Safe.si team prepared an educational short movie for teenagers about posting selfies online. With the backstory of a young girl who wants to make a really good selfie, we first offer some tips and tricks for making a “Super Selfie”, followed by the second part of the movie, where we want to teach teenagers about the risks of posting selfies online and what are the main things to consider before doing that.
Helpline contest 'What does 017 Helpline means for you?'
This initiative was designed for the schools and encouraged pupils to record short videos representing problems they may encounter while using the Internet or other technologies. They also had to display how they think the 017 Helpline can help them to prevent or to resolve those problems.
Thanks to the contest the kids contacted the 017 Helpline and learnt about the service and the way it works. This is seen as a really positive outcome as children are more likely to trust the 017 Helpline and contact the service if they encounter any problems in the future.
Didactic activity: Advertising aimed at minors on Internet video platforms
Pedagogycal resource about how to recognize and analyze the advertising present in the contents of videos on the Internet aimed at minors.
The resource includes an explanatory video "Advertising and minors on the Internet videos" (Spanish language video with English subtitles), so pupils check the different advertising formats and discuss in groups how this content impacts on their online consumption habits.

Series of lesson plans about safety and security at schools for different age groups
The series of Internet Segura for Kids - IS4K’s lesson plans about safety and security, provide guidance for teachers. Each lesson plan includes two dynamic and interactive activities based on the promotion of personal responsibility and critical thinking for children and young people when facing online content, each of them lasts 50 minutes.
Parents & Media 2023
Parents & Media surveys attitudes towards children’s media use among parents and other caretakers with children aged 0-18 years. It is one of three reports in the series Kids and Media based on Sweden’s largest survey on children's media habits and attitudes. This survey is carried out every second year. The parents answer questions concerning their children’s media use and their opinions about it.
Kids & Media 2023
"Kids & Media" is Sweden's largest statistical survey of children's media habits and attitudes. This survey is carried out every second year and this is the sixth issue of the survey. The survey includes children aged 9-18 years and the findings are presented for three age groups: 9-12, 13-16 and 17-18 year olds.
Some examples of the results:
- From the age of 9, a majority of children in Sweden now have a mobile phone.. Most children, 12 years or older, use it every day and it is the most common daily media activity.
