Handbook “Cyberbullying and cyber abuse of children and adolescents”

The handbook contains information for social workers on how to deal with cases of violence and abuse of children and young people that they encounter online. Forms of online violence and abuse addressed in the handbook are: Sexual violence and sexual abuse, hateful, offensive and violent content, abuse of privacy. The manual is intended primarily for social workers in Centres for social work, but also for police officers and school social workers.

Based on the feedback received, the manual is very well accepted by experts and other professionals working with children. They find this manual very useful and a great tool that can help them when they have to respond to cases of violence and abuse of children and young people online. The main added value of this manual seems to be the list of practical examples with suggestions on how to react in different situations.

The printed version of the handbook will be disseminated to employees at Slovenian Centres for Social Work and to the police officers. The handbook will be also distributed to other experts working with children a d young people. The online version will be disseminated via Safe.si website as well as through social networking sites, such as Facebook and Instagram.
