Better Internet for Kids

According to the latest World Health Organization’s survey on schoolchildren’s health and lifestyles, one out of six children in Lithuania is being bullied online. During the webinar “Cyberbullying: what adults need to know”, the representative of the Child Line shared how children communicate online, how adults can keep up with the digital world of children and teenagers, what are the characteristics of cyberbullying and how we can help children experiencing cyberbullying.

Discord is a chat platform with more than 150 million users worldwide. Anyone under the age of 13 can create an account on the Discord platform, and young people between the ages of 13 and 18 must have the consent of a parent or guardian.

This guide provides information for parents and guardians on how the Discord platform works, the potential threats that children may face and how parents can help keep their children safe.

Participants receive a comprehensive overview of the development of artificial intelligence, learn how it is integrated into a wide range of tools and applications and have a discussion with other participants about AI in schools, the associated risks for children and young people and how to deal with them. During the further training, participants will have the opportunity to actively work with AI tools and experience their functions first-hand.

This teaching package provides information and teaching methods for teachers in special and regular education. The methods are differentiated in terms of difficulty and group composition. Through this package young people learn the difference between sexting and non-consensual sexting, how to set their own boundaries online and how they can interpret and respect the boundaries of others.

L1V14 is an online escape room that aims to promote media literacy among primary school pupils. The game consists of a browser-based escape room, an instruction manual and pedagogical material to support the handling of tasks, including information and task sections. The game is played in small groups in a browser.

Sexual exploitation of children is a serious and globally widespread crime that can manifest in many ways, including through so-called livestreamed sexual abuse. To combat this, ECPAT Sweden’s Financial Coalition launched ”Project Indicators” with the long term goal of preventing payments for child sexual abuse.

The “Sex, diversity and porn” quiz is aimed at young people and takes a playful approach to questions that are often associated with shame. It not only teaches the safe handling of intimate images, but also provides information on what is legally permitted from what age, what is meant by transsexuality and intersexuality and what contraceptive options are available. In the feedback, young people receive further information and find out where they can get more information if they have further questions.
