Also, the use of digital platforms to share things we believe to be true when they may not be can have a powerful ripple effect, influencing others to see them as facts. This can be especially dangerous for children and young people who can be persuaded to take on distorted views of the world that could cause them or others harm in the real world.

Between October 2019 and December 2020, the Italian Safer Internet Center - SIC ran seven educational and awareness raising seminars addressed to youth professionals (social workers, paediatricians, psychologists and teachers, as well as all those professionals involved in child protection issues) aiming at deepening understanding the current challenges to the children’s rights in the digital age in terms of education, privacy, protection, participation and freedom.
