Safer Internet Centre Croatia opens its third office

The opening event was organised on World Day for the Prevention of Child Abuse. Operated by the Centre for Missing and Exploited Children, a non-profit organisation with 18 years of experience, the new office enhances accessibility for children, parents, and professionals, particularly in rural and island areas.

The SIC Croatia Split office's core activities include:

The Insafe resource competition

Safer Internet France is committed to creating impactful tools that empower young people and families to navigate the digital world safely and responsibly. The SIC is proud to share that two of their resources, Stop la Violence and FamiNum, have consecutively won the Insafe network resource competition in 2023 and 2024.

The Temptation of Quick Money Online

In Luxembourg, the rise of “quick money” schemes such as Multi-Level Marketing (MLM) and money muling has become a growing concern, particularly among young people. Social media platforms are widely used to spread enticing offers, promising easy income but often leading to significant financial losses. While MLM schemes lure individuals with high-profit promises, many deliver little or nothing in return.

Nearly Double the Number of CSAM Reports Compared to Last Year in Luxembourg

The rapid increase in Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) reports highlights an alarming trend, with the BEE SECURE Stopline receiving over 8,600 reports in 2023—almost double the previous year. This rise reflects a broader international trend and underscores the growing risks linked to digital technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI). Criminals exploit tools like FaceSwap AI and Undress AI to manipulate children's images found online, creating abusive content.

Leaflet for young people: Children’s rights online

We have prepared a leaflet for youngsters on children’s rights online. The leaflet was created for the Back-to-School Campaign 2024. The printed version of the leaflet is disseminated at workshops for pupils and students organized by the centre in schools and at other events where this target group is present. The online version is available on the Safe.si website and through social networking sites such as Facebook and Instagram. Our goal is to reach as many young people as possible.
