Youth Internet Monitor 2025

Which social networks are popular with young people in Austria? Are there differences between girls and boys? This year, the Safer Internet Center Austria (Saferinternet.at) analysed the social media use of Austrian young people for the 10th time. The survey has once again produced exciting results for the year 2025: Microsoft Teams is new to the top 6 most popular platforms. The five most used networks have remained the same, but their position in the ranking has shifted. The use of WhatsApp, Instagram, TikTok and the like has increased again compared to the previous year.

Week of media literacy campaign in the Netherlands

For an entire week (8 to 15 November 2024), countless network partners, citizens, and young people reflected on their digital balance under the theme 'Healthy screen use'. Activities took place across the country, a record-breaking 10,000+ classes participated in MediaMasters, and the campaign received significant attention in the national press.

'Media Ukkie Days' campaign in the Netherlands

Our yearly Media Ukkie campaign is focused on the youngest children from 0 to 6 years old, and their parents. The theme of the Media Ukkie Days 2024 was Relaxing with Media. The role media plays in helping children - and ourselves - relax became evident through the results of the Iene Miene Media research. No less than 91 per cent of parents sometimes use digital media to create time for themselves. However, many parents (50 per cent) also observe that digital media do not necessarily help their little ones relax.
