Better Internet for Kids

On Thursday, 30 and Friday, 31 January 2020, all delegations gathered to discuss the upcoming process, which is set to take almost three years and, will finish with the organization of a congress. The goal is to give partner organisations a better understanding of how to support parents in the media education of their children, based on the good practices developed in Belgium.

Same approach, different content

Greece, Cyprus, Bulgaria and Romania are the first countries to start working with the Safely Online modules. These four countries still face major challenges in the field of media literacy. After a preliminary mapping of the parents' needs, participating countries will be able to adapt and implement the modules of Safely Online and start working with the training.

Safely Online has several interactive modules and focuses mainly on parenting tips and testimonials from children, adolescents, parents and experts. This is the basis for many trainings for parents (about 200 per year). The modules can be consulted online through www.veiligonline.be (Dutch version) or www.safelyonline.eu (English subtitles).
