INCIBE launched an awareness campaign featuring various types of content aimed at understanding the features this technology offers young people, as well as promoting safe and respectful usage of AI.
AI is here to stay, and we cannot ignore its impact on our society - an impact that extends to adolescents. For this reason, in April 2026, INCIBE launched an awareness campaign on artificial intelligence and digital safety among young people. This initiative targets young people themselves, as well as their families and educators. It uses a range of accessible, easy-to-understand resources, such as blog posts, infographics, visual content, podcasts, lesson plans, tests, and an online classroom workshop.
To provide general context, the campaign discusses what AI is and how it influences the daily lives of minors and their surroundings. SIC Spain also explores its key challenges and opportunities, along with guidelines for using this technology responsibly.
Focusing specifically on the educational environment, the campaign addresses the advantages and risks of using AI in classrooms and - among other topics - how to practically identify AI-generated content.
For families, the campaign highlights the parental control tools and settings available on the major generative AI apps commonly used by young people.
And specifically for young people, the campaign addresses the risks associated with generative AI and provide guidance on how to handle unwanted situations.
In the specific context of education, it is crucial to support schools so they can understand and leverage the opportunities AI offers in the classroom, while simultaneously limiting and preventing associated risks, and promoting safe, responsible, and healthy usage among students. This approach aligns with national and European strategies that promote ethical and healthy AI use in education.
