From 23-27 June 2025, the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) booth served as a true focal point for interactive learning and global collaboration, reflecting the IGF’s overarching theme: "Building digital governance together".

A vibrant hub in the IGF village
Amid a wide range of exhibitors in the IGF Village, the BIK booth offered a vibrant and hands-on experience for visitors. The space invited participants to dive into:
- The Better Internet for Kids (BIK+) strategy, the European Commission’s comprehensive plan for fostering child-friendly digital ecosystems.
- A curated set of resources for educators, parents, and policymakers, addressing topics from media literacy and online safety to digital rights and inclusion.
- Insights from European Safer Internet Centres, highlighting national efforts that contribute to the global effort for safer online experiences.
One of the highlights at the booth was the SID 2026 Polaroid Campaign, a fun and engaging activity that invited visitors to take a snapshot with SID-themed props and messages. The campaign sparked meaningful conversations and helped raise awareness about the upcoming SID 2026, setting the stage for an even bigger and more impactful edition of the global event.

Strengthening the multistakeholder dialogue
Throughout the IGF, the Insafe delegation connected with international stakeholders, shared best practices, and explored new opportunities for collaboration. The IGF’s multistakeholder format provided fertile ground for exchanging ideas on digital literacy, online safety technologies, policy frameworks, and children’s digital rights.
The presence of the Insafe network at IGF 2025 reaffirmed its commitment to global collaboration for a safer digital world. As we look ahead to Safer Internet Day 2026 and continue implementing the BIK+ strategy, the lessons and connections gained from IGF 2025 will continue to inform the work of the Better Internet for Kids initiative and Insafe network.
