The panelist arrived in Procida on Thursday, May 4, and in the afternoon they participated in the first training meeting conducted by the experts of the Italian Safer Internet Centre.
On the first day
On the first day, the trainings by the Safer Internet Centre experts took place, as well as the presentation of activities and review of the ePolicy document.
Students and experts discussed the guidelines within the ePolicy document of schools. The goal is to give a voice to students, who are the recipients of the document, to equip schools with better indications than ever on how to talk in their classrooms about the risks associated with the internet.
The Youth Panel was given the task of sharing and comparing their own views, and thanks to the training with the experts their goal was to provide advice to give to their peers, as well as parents and teachers.
The students then participated in the training activities organised by the Giffoni experts: “Pre-production: what is the script of a video and how to plan it”.
During this training phase, young people watched examples, reflected on the meaning of writing the script of a video, and learned what steps to follow and questions to answer before starting to write a script:
- Why making a video about the ePolicy document?
- What do we want to achieve?
- What are we going to discuss internally?
- What key message do we want to say?
- Which style and tone of voice do we want to use?
- How to represent the characteristics of ePolicy and how its use can be good to kids, teachers, parents?
- On which channels will the video be used and broadcasted?
On the second day
The second day focused on the writing of the script. The day started at 10:30 with an interactive ePolicy themed game. Then there was a plenary in which the young people were divided into three groups, each coordinated by an expert of the group contents.
In each group there were exchanges, comparisons and ideas from which the three proposals for the
video spot to be realised were born.
In the plenary session, the final script was defined with dialogues and tasks were defined for the realisation of the video that was shot on the following day.
On the third day
The third day was dedicated to the shooting and production of the video, in which young people took care of being directors but also actors. Stay tuned to watch the final product soon!
The goal of the three days was to create a video in which young people could dialogue with other peers to build a better internet by combining the art of cinema with peer education.
