
This year’s Safer Internet Day celebrations in Italy focused on artificial intelligence (AI), delving into both its applications and implications in terms of opportunities and risks within the following five areas:
- Privacy, image rights and artificial intelligence.
- Metaverse.
- Special educational needs and artificial intelligence.
- Artificial intelligence and the future of jobs.
- Gaming and artificial intelligence.
Youth and teacher panels and consultation groups played pivotal roles in fostering in-depth analysis and discussion on the proposed themes.
Additionally this year, the Safer Internet Centre carried out research into the skills and habits of approximately 2,000 students. The research revealed, among other things, that two out of three adolescents have already used applications based on generative artificial intelligence, such as ChatGPT.
