About the organisation
The Slovak Safer Internet Centre (SIC) was established in 2024 in cooperation with four organisations: two public and two NGOs. The SIC coordinator is the Ministry of Labour, Social Affairs and Family of the Slovak Republic, which is also part of the awareness-raising centre alongside the NGO DigiQ. The helpline is the state-owned National Helpline Viac ako ni(c)k. The hotline is the NGO Ochráň ma.
Awareness centre
The awareness centre consists of the Ministry of Labour, represented by the National Coordination Centre for Resolving the Issues of Violence against Children, and the NGO DigiQ. The main awareness-raising activities include Safer Internet Day calls for schools and conferences for experts, peers, and high school students.

Youth participation
Youth participation is a crucial part of our activities. DigiQ is a pioneer of peer-to-peer learning in digital issues in Slovakia. It has a trademark programme, digiPeers, which is an emblem of child participation.

Key successes
The Slovakian Safer Internet Centre (SIC) has organised several activities for its target groups, the most important being the national conference on child protection online, the student conference (inspired by the Polish SIC), and the peer-to-peer conference. We appreciate the mutual cooperation within the network and are happy to be part of the exchange of experiences and to see new perspectives on our work in light of our partners´ experiences.
