Video platforms are very popular, even among the youngest.
They are often used from a young age to watch videos of children's songs or cartoons, and at a later age to watch videos of video games, toys, music videos, and humour, by children and teenage Youtubers.

The National Commission for the Promotion of the Rights and Protection of Children and Adolescents, in collaboration with the Council of Europe, has translated into Portuguese a booklet produced by this international organisation in child-friendly language, which contains guidelines for respecting, protecting and fulfilling the rights of the child in the digital environment, and is presented to children and adolescents up to the age of 18.

The activity book contains four sections:

Digital Privacy, which focuses on reducing data traces and understanding online profiling;
Digital Security, with tips on creating strong and secure passwords;
Digital Wellbeing, which deals with the addictive nature of smartphones;
and finally Misinformation, a guide for consuming and sharing information online.

The toolkit is designed for 11 to 16-year-olds who already have their own devices, but it can be used by people of all ages. All you need is a smartphone or a tablet, a printer and something to write with.
