Better Internet for Kids

This publication is a guide aimed at teenagers, focusing on various aspects of managing their presence and activities online. It covers topics such as understanding what a digital footprint is, maintaining a positive online reputation, navigating online culture and etiquette, dealing with cyberbullying, building a personal brand on the internet, considering the impact of social media on career plans, understanding the right to be forgotten, managing one's digital footprint effectively, and ensuring mental well-being in the digital age.

I denna rapport har vi studerat barns upplevelser, attityder och strategier för att hantera sexuella övergrepp, på och utanför nätet. Vi har även gjort en jämförelse mellan barnens svar i ECPAT Sveriges (ECPAT) enkät Nude på nätet 2021 och 2023. 
Enkäten har utvecklats över tid men de frågor som vi har valt att ställa till barnen om utsatthet för sexualbrott har behållits oförändrade – just för  att vi ska kunna studera förändring.

The song "Z internetem świat jest bliski" (Internet makes the world closer), along with the music video and the lesson plan, represents the latest educational materials designed for children aged 4-7. These materials are aimed at promoting digital hygiene among the youngest. The protagonists of the music video are Mr. File and Mr. Folder, characters who introduce children to the virtual world and explain its basic concepts.

On the International Children's Day, the Children's Crisis Center has published preventive COLORING BOOKS on the topic of CYBER SPACE RISKS. It is a new preventive material that informs children about the pitfalls of cyberspace in a playful way. COLORING BOOKS will be appreciated by children and their families, kindergartens (when working with children of preschool age), school groups or homes for children and youth.

CyberSquad forum is a peer-to-peer online platform, for teenagers (13-16 yo) to exchange tips, experience, doubts and give each other support in case of a problem or need. When in trouble, young people prefer to seek help from their peers rather than turning to an adult figure, and only at a later stage they would contact a support organization. As a response to teenagers’ needs, Child Focus and young people co-developed a safe online space where to exchange with peers, share experiences and seek help.

In today’s digital age, children use a variety of screens and devices at home, in schools and on the move. Within this context, parents need support in understanding how to
care for their well-being. To address this issue, the European Safe Online Initiative, first established in Belgium, expanded to engage with thousands of parents and other carers across five different countries, helping them to develop media literacy skills. With a focus on the role of parents, the book discusses a wide range of subjects related to children's online media

To support stakeholders willing to reach out to parents and raise awareness among this audience on e-safety issues children may face online, Child Focus and partners of the ESOI project have developed the ESOI prototype: a step-by-step guide to design a SafeOnline initiative in different national contexts.
