What does cyberbullying look like and how does its victim feel? This is what the educational game DigiStories: Nela deals with. It is mainly intended for the second grade of primary schools.
The main characters of the video game are Nela and Anežka, best friends, girls from the second grade of elementary school. Nela, in whose role the player finds himself, is popular, from a rich family and wants to become a famous YouTuber. He invites Anežka to one of the filming sessions and together they film the so-called unboxing – they present each other with new headphones and comment on them. However, Nela does not treat Anežka very nicely, and viewers will read it in the comments below the video. The negative response encourages Anežka, who has accumulated resentment and envy over time, and starts cyberbullying Nela. First in a private chat, later in a group chat. The end of the game is left open so that the teacher can use it to start a discussion and ask questions. How would one behave and what are the victim's options.
