Your Rights Online

The educational material "Your Rights Online" deals with children's rights on the internet and is aimed at school librarians and school counselors, as well as children and young people (age 10-16). The material can be linked to the Swedish curriculum and therefore also be used by, or together with teachers. The material contains: the Convention on the Rights of the Child, GDPR, algorithms, and information on where to find help and support.

The content and design of the material have been developed in dialogue with secondary school students and is primarily aimed at teenagers, but we believe that it can also be used with middle school students.

The "Your Rights Online" learning material is on the Swedish Agency for the Media's website and contains four parts that you as an adult can choose from, or use in its entirety.

  1. A comprehensive PowerPoint presentation with speaking notes. Use all of it, or pick and choose from the themes. The presentation also includes examples of challenging situations that can be discussed within the group.
  2. A brochure aimed directly at children and young people that includes GDPR, algorithms and information on where to find help and support.
  3. A poster to make children and young people aware of the material (and a link to our website for young people).
  4. A short film (15 minutes) that includes both knowledge and examples of challenges.
