Study on cybersecurity education in primary and secondary schools in Portugal

The main objectives of this report are to map the presence of cybersecurity initiatives, programs and curricular content in secondary education in Portugal, to compare these practices with other other European Union (EU) countries in order to identify good practices and recommend ways to improve the integration of cybersecurity into school curricula. 

In order to analyse the panorama of cybersecurity teaching in Portugal in primary and secondary education, this study included the analysis of strategic documents, school textbooks and a survey of school groups and non-grouped schools at national level to national level to identify the initiatives developed and the frequency with which cybersecurity is covered in the subjects. In addition interviews were conducted with teachers and other relevant actors to gather their perspectives on school practices and needs in cybersecurity education, thus enabling us to a detailed overview of the current situation and existing gaps.
