Internet education: a guide for parents of children aged 0-10

Internet education begins very early, certainly no later than the moment a child is first given a screen-equipped device with internet access (such as a tablet, phone, computer, or even a television).

Educating children about the online world is not a simple task, which is why the Safe.si awareness centre (part of the Slovenian Safer Internet Centre) developed the guide Education for the internet for parents and caregivers of children aged 0 to 10. It’s an excellent resource, especially for parents of preschool-aged children.

The guide offers advice on how to properly prepare children to use screen devices and internet services in a safe and healthy way.

The printed version of the handbook has already been distributed to Slovenian centres for social work, libraries, and selected kindergartens. It will also be distributed to parents attending Safe.si training sessions. Additionally, the handbook is available in PDF format on the project website, where parents and caregivers can also order a printed copy free of charge. The online version is promoted via the Safe.si website as well as through social media platforms.
