New BIK platform

BIK platform onboarding continues

All SIC Coordinators/SIC onboarding contacts have been contacted recently regarding the continuing onboarding activities. For those SICs that are still to create their organisation records, please do so by close of business on Wednesday, 30 October 2024. We need your organisations to be created in the system to proceed with onboarding other colleagues in your SIC and to connect your resource and helpline case study record to the correct organisation.

Where the organisation setup is complete for your consortium, SIC Coordinators/SIC onboarding contacts should proceed with inviting their consortium colleagues to join, following the instructions issued last week.

Important: any SIC colleagues who created a registration record in recent weeks but linked themselves to the SIC record will need to go back into their profiles and connect themselves to their organisation instead. Once this is done, a workflow notification will be triggered, allowing your account to be approved.

Any queries regarding the new platform - whether onboarding issues or otherwise - should be directed to the support helpdesk (or channelled via the contact forms on the platform).

Please note that sign-in is only needed to access the community area of the new platform; the public platform can be accessed and browsed without registration.

Capacity building

SIC/SIC+ focus group

[REMINDER, FOR INFORMATION AND PARTICIPATION]

On the morning of Friday, 22 November 2024 (the day after SIF), European Schoolnet is hosting an on-site focus group within the framework of the SIC+ programme, focusing on good practices for co-creating resources with children and young people. The session will take place from 9:00 - 12:00 CET in Brussels (exact location to be confirmed).

Building on the framework of the Better Internet for Kids (BIK+) strategy, involving children and young people in decision-making and co-creation processes is crucial. Over the years, youth participation activities have become an integral part of the work of EU co-funded Safer Internet Centres (SICs). The focus group will be an opportunity for SIC+ representatives (attending SIF in person) and their corresponding international youth panel members to engage and share best practices on the issues of harmful content online, mental health and well-being online, and safe digital navigation. The focus group will be shaped by small-group, interactive discussions; the objective is to produce ‘blueprints’ of co-creation models that can be shared more widely.

EU SICs are also welcome to participate in this focus group to further share network experiences and expertise. Due to limited capacity, if any SIC colleagues are interested in joining, please contact Chiara by the close of business this Thursday, 31 October 2024. We will confirm participation soon after to allow travel arrangements to be finalised accordingly.
