Sexual exploitation of children is a serious and globally widespread crime that can manifest in many ways, including through so-called livestreamed sexual abuse. To combat this, ECPAT Sweden’s Financial Coalition launched ”Project Indicators” with the long term goal of preventing payments for child sexual abuse.
The AdWiseOnline campaign is running in a partnership between the EC’s DG CONNECT and DG JUST policy frameworks, as well as the public-facing networks of European Safer Internet Centres (SICs) and European Consumer Centres (ECC-Net) within the framework of the Better Internet for Kids (BIK) project

In general, an Acceptable Use Policy addresses the safe, acceptable and responsible use of the internet and digital technologies. It may be used as a framework or customised to reflect individual school circumstances and needs. Webwise have developed a helpful set of guidelines for consideration when developing an AUP. Included in this publication is an AUP template for schools.

Coimisiún na Meán’s Online Safety Code sets out new binding rules that oblige video-sharing platforms to make changes to their services to ensure that users, especially children, are protected from illegal and harmful content. The Online Safety Code applies to video-sharing platform that are based in Ireland, and it is one element of Ireland’s Online Safety Framework, which also includes the EU Digital Services Act, and the EU Terrorist Content Online Regulation.

It will also outline the ethical considerations of using AI in a school setting.
