Safer Internet Day 2026: a collective commitment to a safer digital world for every child in Greece
Safer Internet Day 2026 was once again celebrated across Greece, bringing together the educational community, public authorities, and stakeholders in a dynamic nationwide effort to promote a safer digital environment for children and young people. The celebrations were coordinated in Greece by the Greek Safer Internet Centre (SaferInternet4Kids.gr) of FORTH, which organised a wide range of activities and initiatives, turning the day into a true national campaign of awareness and engagement.

The EU Action plan against cyberbullying
On Tuesday 10 February 2026, as part of the Safer Internet Day global celebrations throughout the month of February, the European Commission (EC) adopted the EU Action plan against cyberbullying, aiming to give children, parents, carers and educators the tools they need to report and combat cyberbullying.
Young people and digital security
The Portuguese Institute of Sport and Youth (IPDJ) hosted the training session "Young people and digital security" for young volunteers and youth workers to explore the relationship between young people and the digital environment, with a particular focus on security, risks, and online rights.

On Tuesday, 10 February 2026 we celebrated the 23rd edition of Safer Internet Day (SID), with events and activities taking place across the globe during the whole month of February. Under the theme “Together for a better internet”, the campaign invites all stakeholders to join forces to make the internet a safer and better place for all, especially for children and young people.

Through 57 members across 52 countries, INHOPE brings together trusted organisations with deep local expertise, working every day to identify, assess and remove child sexual abuse material from the internet. By sharing knowledge, exchanging best practices and collecting data on global trends, the network enables coordinated action that no single organisation could achieve alone.

Celebrated in over 160 countries worldwide, this year marks the 23rd edition, under the theme ‘Together for a better internet.’
