On 10 February 2026, the Polish Safer Internet Centre (SIC) joined the global celebrations with the Safer Internet Day conference. The event was addressed to representatives of the educational sector, non-governmental organisations, and practitioners working with children.
The conference was held at the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews but was also broadcasted live on the website www.dbi.pl, and on the related YouTube channel. The event gathered nearly 12,117 participants: such a high turnout shows that online safety education is of great importance to the Polish general public. The conference was recorded and is now available online, reaching an even larger number of viewers.
Schools, libraries and other educational institutions were invited to prepare awareness- raising campaigns, online classes and other activities throughout February and March. The best SID local initiatives can take part in the contest for the most creative undertaking. In the 2026 edition, the Polish Safer Internet Centre has provided digital educational materials on its website. Up to this point, as many as 3,512 initiatives have been registered, with more than a million declared participants. Submission of SID initiatives is possible until the end of March.
In addition, a special series of 14 webinars for professionals has been prepared, taking place every week of February in the afternoon. There was a high interest and overall, more than 4,959 participants joined the webinars.
For school students, the Polish SIC prepared 29 online lessons in which around 60,140 children and young people participated in February. The online lessons will continue to take place throughout March.
The Polish version of the SID slogan is "#Działajmy razem", which translates to "Let's act together!". The slogan helped to gather a wide spectrum of stakeholders. The Polish SIC has invited leading IT businesses such as Orange Foundation to partner with them during this year’s SID actions. National institutions such as the Ministry of Digital Affairs, the Ministry of Education, and the Ombudsman for Children granted honorary patronages to the event.
The Safer Internet Day in Poland is organised by the Polish Safer Internet Centre that consists of NASK National Research Institute and the Empowering Children Foundation, implementers of the EU funding programme Digital Europe.
