The Well-Being Commission was established by the government on 11 August 2023. The commission's target group is the general group of children and young people between the ages of 0-25, and it must look across arenas in the lives of children and young people, e.g. school, leisure life, healthcare and the home.
One of the four general themes addressed by the Commission is the ""Good Digital Life"". This is described as follows:
For the vast majority of children and young people, social media and other digital services, including online games, have become part of everyday life. Digital media use can strengthen communities, but also lead to addiction, loneliness, the experience of and fear of violations and affect e.g. sleep, physical activity and body image. The commission must look at how children's and young people's digital lives and presence on digital platforms and social media can have an impact on their well-being and how children's and young people's digital education, safety and security can be strengthened.
