Participation of Children and Young People in Decision‑Making: Action Plan 2024–2028

Title (original language): 245/2024. (VIII. 8.) Korm. rendelet a nevelési-oktatási intézményekben a tiltott és a használatában korlátozott tárgyak köréről, valamint a tárgyakra vonatkozó eljárásrend részletes szabályairól

This Action Plan is Ireland’s second national-level blueprint to embed the voices of children and young people in decision-making processes—extending beyond the first National Strategy (2015–2020). Its goal is to embed youth participation in policy, education, health, legal systems, and community life by establishing structured mechanisms (like Hub na nÓg, Comhairle na nÓg) and engaging children up to age 24 in meaningful consultation and influence. The  action plan provides a framework for Government Departments and State agencies to engage children and young people in policy, legislation, research, and service development, with a strong focus on inclusivity for seldom-heard groups. The plan is underpinned by the Lundy Model of Participation.

Entities responsible for implementation: Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth (DCEDIY)

Status: Implemented | Implementation period start: 2024 | Implementation period finish: 2028
