Basic Schools and Upper Secondary Schools Act

The Basic Schools and Upper Secondary Schools Act regulates the organisation of studies of basic schools and upper secondary schools, the rights and duties of students and students’ parents or guardians (hereinafter parents), the rights and duties of school employees, the bases for management and funding of schools, and the bases for administrative supervision over the teaching and education activities of schools.

According to the Act on Elementary and Secondary Schools, the school ensures the student's mental and physical safety and health protection during his stay at the school. According to the aforementioned law, the school has rules of procedure, which the principal establishes. The school's rules of procedure and amendments are submitted to the school's board of trustees and the student council for an opinion before being established.
