Webinar on addictions, technology, gaming and gambling

The dependence on technology could take different forms, including gaming addiction and gambling disorder. It is crucial to understand the dynamics of these phenomena in order to activate adequate prevention and intervention measures.

This topic was addressed in a webinar held on December 12, 2024, organised by the Italian Safer Internet Centre Generazioni Connesse together with the association La Banda degli Onesti ETS ODV, with the participation of Telefono Donna Italia.

During the event, the discussion focused on online gaming and how a lack of awareness about potential risks could lead to pathological situations. The speakers presented tools and strategies that could help prevent and limit the dangers connected to excessive gaming.

In parallel, the issue of gambling disorder was also discussed, with particular attention to the risks linked to online gambling, where minors were increasingly involved. The consequences of this form of addiction often had long-lasting effects on personal life, social relationships, and educational paths.

Speakers:

  • Avv. Giuliano De Luca – legal expert, SIC Italia Generazioni Connesse
  • Dr. Paola Aquaro – psychologist and psychotherapist, Telefono Donna Italia
  • Savino Accetta – public speaker, president of La Banda degli Onesti ETS ODV

More information on the webinar is available on the Generazioni Connesse website.
