Transmission of SID 2024 Conference for teachers and educators.

1. The School of the Future, Which We Don't Know Yet - dr Jędrzej Witkowski
In the course of the presentation, the speaker delved into the type of education needed for the future, a future that was progressively harder to foresee. They began by exploring the trends shaping education and pondered how schools could relate to them, aiming to aptly respond to the needs and aspirations of young individuals, parents, and teachers. The focus was on what schools should have taught, how the students' school experience should have looked, and what role teachers should have played.

2. More Than Data. The Internet in the Experience of Teenager 3.0 - Anna Rywczyńska and Maja Olszewska
How are these over 5 hours filled, which, according to the latest data (from the NASK study "Teenagers 3.0"), young people spent in front of screens? What does online hate mean for teenagers, and why is it so challenging for them to seek help when they become victims or witnesses of violence on the Internet? Is it true that the flood of harmful content makes it increasingly difficult for young people to recognize materials that could be dangerous or negatively impact their emotions? Changing the internet for the better is impossible without understanding how young people perceive these challenges, without listening to what they need from us as parents and teachers. It's essential for the digital revolution to improve their world rather than pose one of the most significant threats to their daily lives.

3. Who is on the Other Side? - Łukasz Wojtasik
20 years ago, the "Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę" Foundation launched the first Polish social campaign dedicated to online threats for children. Its slogan, "You never know who is on the other side," is still often referenced in the context of the issue of online grooming of children. The originator of this campaign, Łukasz Wojtasik, will recall the circumstances of its creation and discuss how the issue of grooming has evolved over the years and how we can effectively prevent it today.

4. Building Relationship Spaces in Education - Radosław Potrac
Traditionally, school is a place where children are meant to learn. However, today, this function becomes equally important to the caretaking and educational role. The necessity of such an approach to the school's function, as an organization, is highlighted by recent PISA studies and the experiences of many educators. To make the school a safe and meaningful place for children and youth once again, where they feel part of a community and find their secure space within the institution, it is crucial to reassess the perspective on the school. Collaboratively with parents and students, there is a need to seek a new model for a contemporary school. How to achieve this? Together, we will explore answers based on the incorporation of projects, peer education, and field lessons into daily practice.

5. Dopamine - in the Loop with Emotions - Katarzyna Talacha
Viewing from the perspective of a consultant for the children and youth helpline, 116 111, and the individual managing the helpline's social media, this discussion delves into the impact and presence of the Internet in the relationships and emotions of young individuals. It aimed to address how they navigated this digital landscape, identifying what posed challenges, what caused discomfort, exploring the opportunities it presented, and questioning whether there was a discernible method within this intricate dynamic. All insights were gleaned firsthand, directly from those involved, as part of the "Dopamine" campaign by the "Dajemy Dzieciom Siłę" Foundation.

6. Generative Artificial Intelligence in Education - Are We Talking About Everything Worth Talking About? - Prof. UAM Dr. Hab. Jacek Pyżalski and Julia Piechna
There is quite a bit of public discussion about the role of generative artificial intelligence in education, with some topics receiving more attention than others. Our qualitative research, consisting of interviews with teacher-practitioners utilizing such tools in schools, revealed that there are crucial issues that are highly significant but nearly absent in the most common discussions. It is precisely these selected topics that we aim to discuss, illustrating them with research material.
