The parent’s guide ‘Know how to talk with your teen about Instagram’ has been translated from English to Greek, from Cyprus Safer Internet Center (Cyprus Pedagogical Institute), in order to inform parents on how to ensure that Instagram will be a positive place where their children can connect and benefit from. Many parents are concerned about their children’s online safety; therefore, an effort is made through this guide to inform and raise awareness about Instagram in order to enable parents to guide teenagers in using it safely and responsibly as well as to ensure that the teenagers’ experience is positive, voluntary and safe.
The relevant guide focuses on how to manage privacy, interactions and time spent on Instagram. It also includes basic information about the app and a description of its tools as well as a discussion guide on how parents and guardians can have an open conversation with their teenagers.
